Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

Saubhagya Bangles ("we," "our," or "us") operates the WebXR Bangle Size Estimator (the "Sizer"). We are committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your data when you use our contactless size estimation services.

2. On-Device Camera Processing (No Image Uploads)

The Sizer uses your device's camera stream and WebXR depth-sensing or MediaPipe hand-tracking models to detect knuckle landmarks and estimate your bangle size.

🔒 Camera Streams Are Processed Locally Only

All video frames, hand geometry parameters, and depth calculations are processed strictly on your local device. We do not transmit, collect, or store any camera feeds, photographs, video files, or biometric imagery on our servers or databases.

3. Anonymous Telemetry Collected

To monitor calibration accuracy, assess device compatibility, and evaluate size demand distributions, our system logs anonymous telemetry events when sizing locks or feedback is submitted. The logged data includes:

  • Measurement Metrics: Estimated knuckle width in centimeters, calibration scale, and recommended bangle size.
  • User Feedback: Your confirmation of whether the recommendation was correct, and optionally your self-reported correct size.
  • Device Metadata: Simplified device platform (e.g., Android, iOS, Windows) and device-level capabilities.
  • Approximate Location: Broad geographic region (country-level only) derived from serverless platform headers. We explicitly strip and discard full IP addresses before logging.
  • Random Identifiers: A randomly generated Session ID and User ID to detect multi-session usage patterns and group event streams.

4. Browser Storage

To maintain state and support returning user functionality, the Sizer utilizes browser local storage:

  • bangle_sizer_session_id: Stored in SessionStorage. Identifies a single continuous visit and expires when your browser tab is closed.
  • bangle_sizer_user_id: Stored in LocalStorage. Persists across browser sessions to provide a customized welcome greeting on returning visits.

These storage mechanisms do not contain any personally identifiable information (PII) like names, emails, or phone numbers. You can clear them at any time by clearing your browser's site data.

5. Third-Party Services & Data Storage

We deploy our serverless telemetry endpoint on cloud hosting providers (e.g., Vercel) and store anonymized data logs in a secured relational database (e.g., Supabase). These processors are bound by strict data protection agreements and are forbidden from using the data for any purpose other than providing services to us.

6. Your Rights and Data Deletion

Because our database only contains anonymous UUIDs and measurements, we do not have a way to match raw telemetry records directly back to your physical identity (like your name or email). However, if you wish to wipe any local footprints of your use:

  1. Open your browser settings.
  2. Clear site data and cookies for this domain.
  3. This action deletes your local Session and User UUIDs, breaking any connection to past telemetry events.
